This month marked four years since one of my soulmate friends, Maru Iabichela, who is also a personal life coach, encouraged me to start Maria Alexis Design. Even though I don’t do this full time anymore, I learned a lot from all of my clients.
One of the biggest challenges I had with them was choosing a paint color. This little tip will help you when being your own Interior Designer.
1. After choosing your color palette, narrow it down to 3 colors you want on your walls. Try to get 3 different colors and not 3 shades of the same color unless you are for sure about one in particular.
2. Go to your nearest hardware store and get their smallest samples of these colors and a few foam brushes. I believe these area about $3 at Home Depot and/or Lowes.
3. Paint the samples on the wall as seen in the picture above.
4. Decide on a color! Now if you are like most people, you may not like one the the three you chose as they will look very different on the wall. If you loved one, then congratulations, because you are a designing pro!
5. If not, go back and get a different shade of the color you picked or other colors.
6. Buy the chosen color and paint your walls. 🙂
